Code of Conduct

STUDENTS
Students are to be treated with respect and dignity. In return, they must demonstrate respect for themselves, for others, and for the responsibilities of citizenship through acceptable behaviour.

Respect and responsibility are demonstrated when a student:
· comes to school prepared, on time, and ready to learn;
· shows respect for himself or herself, for others, and for those in authority;
· refrains from bringing anything to school that may compromise the safety of others;
· and follows the established rules and takes responsibility for his or her own actions.

Personal Electronic Devices: SMART phones, iPods, iPhones and electronic games are not permitted at school.  

Responsible use of some electronic devices (e.g., iPad, tablets, Kindle,Kobo)to support classroom learning is welcome.  This is done under the guidance of the teacher.  These devices are to be used for instructional purposes only, under the supervision of a staff member.  Public access to WiFi is now available at the school.  No devices are to be used in hallways, lunchrooms, or on the yard. 

Dress Code: Students are expected to dress appropriately for school as outlined in the board dress code.  Examples of inappropriate clothing include slogans/graphics portraying reference to sex, race, profanity, vioence, alcohol and illegal substances as well as halters, crop tops, short shorts and chains.  Visibility of undergarments (e.g., camisole straps, bras, underwear, etc.) is not permitted.  Hat and hoods are not to be worn in school.  We seek the community's support of this sign of respect by asking guests to also remove their hats when entering the school.
