Attendance

Parent Responsibility:

1. It is the responsibility of the parents, guardians or caregivers to contact the school each day their child is going to be late or absent from school (before 9:15am).

2. If a child does not return to school after leaving during the first break the parent must call the school and let us know that the child is safe at home.

3. Parents and guardians must also provide the school with complete and current emergency information.

Schools Responsibility:

1. Re: Morning attendance: If a parent does not contact the school it is the school's responsibility to contact the parent - first at home and secondly at the parent's place of work.

2. Re: Afternoon attendance: If a child does not return to school after leaving for lunch or leaves the school without permission during the day and the parent does not call the school, the school will call the home and parent work numbers to make sure they are aware that their child is not at school. If the school is unable to contact a parent at home or work to confirm that the child is safe, then the police are called to make sure that no harm has come to the child.
