  • Music tomorrow with Mrs. Sherlock
  • STEM task is enegineering with a small group
  • Meet the Staff & Fall Festival - Thursday! ! 
  • If you can come - we have a welcome sign up for parents to know what their child can show you about our start up learning in 2D. 

Sept 25

  1. Talk to your child about their day. How did they feel it went? Anything they want to share?
  2. Gym tomorrow with Mr. Hanna-Jones
  3. What's 'animal classification' mean. It's our big Grade 2 science word. Tell them to explain how they made a neat book which will tell us all about the 6 types of animals
  4. Meet the Staff - Thursday starting at 5:00. I'll be in the classroom for 6pm.

Monday, Sept. 24

  1. Just a few reminders how students come in for learning three blocks of the day. Their social, chatty time is during recesses/lunches.  Please have a talk with your child to remind them of this basic learning rule.
  2. Ask about their character they made in art class today.  Who is it? Do they have a name? What did they like about his/her character?  We're bringing our creations to life tomorrow during writing.
  3. Drama with Mrs. Sherlock tomorrow
  4. Meet the Staff and Fall Festival is coming - Thursday, Sept. 27 5:00p.m.  letters have been sent home.
  5. Scholastic orders due by Thursday. Thank you

Friday, Sept. 21

Please look through your child's homework case. There are a number of items:

  • photo day - October 4
  • a class newsletter with a math sample giving you your child's next steps
  • information sheet about Thursday's "meet the staff and fall festival" event
  • scholastic book orders with a note about how to order (on line or a cheque)

​Ask your child about Thursday's STEM activity - math tangrams. What did they use? What was their challenge? Who was their partner and how did it work for them to be a team?

Library book is due Monday & health with Mrs. Sherlock - Find out what they are talking about in health.

Tuesday September 18

1. We are asking for donations of Toonies for Terry please send in by Friday

2. Gym 

3. A guest teacher Ms Brant for tomorrow and Thursday  please discuss with your child that rules are still the same and how to best treat a guest teacher.  It is the same learning and expectations as if I was there.  

4. Some students are coming home with math homework. Please finish and return by Friday

5.Ask about Bella and what we learned about her species.
