Monday, Oct. 29

  1. Weekly words were sent home today. Quiz will be every Friday. We will do many activities around using the words and the rules. "Short a" sound this week. Your child will need to read and write these words and apply the rule in their everyday work.

Thursday, Oct. 25

  1. Friday is an N.I. Day - no school for your child tomorrow
  2. Alot of students have already got up in front of their peers today, reciting the memorized poem "October".  You still have three days to practice.
  3. Gym on Monday & newsletter coming home
  4. Orange and Black dress up day next Wednesday
  5. Math homework sheets due in red duotangs on Monday.
  6. Ask your child about Bunny the War horse.  How did horses help Canadian solders during WWI, 100 years ago?

October 24th

  1. drama
  2. working on telling time to the quarter past and quater to
  3. last day tomorrow to submit money and trip form
  4. Your child is to think about what might be something brave and courageous?- starting to discuss remembrance day & working on a poster

October 23

  1. library book due
  2. health
  3. trip forms and money due Thursday 
  4. we have 7 volunteers for our trip. That’s awesome!
  5. we are still reading The Boy Called Bat. We are hoping the Tweed vet will come to visit 2D

Monday, October 22

  1. Your child's science test is coming home. Please go over and continue to chat around the classification and sorting animals into their categories.
  2. Our learning turns to how animals adapt to their environment - with parts of their bodies or how they act.
  3. Gym with Mr. Hanna-Jones
  4. Red duotangs came home - an October poem: Can your child memorize for a prize?  By next Monday. Also, two math sheets. Return the duotangs next Monday please
  5. Ask about our STEM activity this afternoon. We acted like birds. Such increadible creatures
